Re: [SG] book, plant sale

Claudia: Thanks for the book tip. I'll search for it next week at local
bookstores or online at amazon.

I have a few salvia now; Black Knight is the favorite. I like blue, so this
and veronica and campanula in various shades of blue are among the favorites
in my perennial borders.

A local nursery is going out of business; this is a shame because it carried
a lot of shade and sun plants that the other nurseries and garden centers
don't want to carry. This was the only place where you could find something
other than blooming petunias.

All their plants were half price. I spent $114, which was way more than I
should have spent but, hey, one doesn't find these bargains very often. I
picked up partial shade plants plus others for sun. Now if I had been paying
full retail, I would have walked out with maybe a half dozen plants. This
nursery was pricey, but the selection and condition of the different as well
as standard varieties was tops. Bargains galore this weekend!

If they have plants left next weekend, I may be "forced" to return. I only
wish I had the money and space for more.

Well, I have my work cut out for the holiday weekend. I've mapped out a new
shade garden.

Enjoy your weekend, everyone.
