Yes, deermice and other little rodents are cute, but take care when
cleaning out where mice have been.  It is not just in places like
Arizona and New Mexico that mouse droppings have infected people with
hanta virus. Canadians cleaning cottages that were shut up for the
winter have been victims, and hikers' huts in Argentina and Chile
present a danger.

There is an Ontario farm safety webpage with instructions on how to
deal with traps and rodent infested areas.
