do you have many species of Anemones? That is one of my favorite genus
among shade plants.

Thanks Gene. I don't have many anemones. <I sometimes joke that my garden
journal is in way better shape than my garden!> My records show that I have
both anemone japonica and anemone pulsatilla <European Pasque> but I don't
list a variety for either. And I think the pulsatilla may have succumbed
last winter. I don't remember seeing it at all this year. <I was away for
six weeks and missed some stuff out there. Also one of the shade beds was
very very crowded. I sometimes find little forgotten plants languishing in
deep shade under a spreading alchemilla!>
However, the anemone japonica, which I got as a "divide" from a dear friend,
was just wonderful. This weekend I moved the surrounding alchemilla to give
it, and other things, more room. I'm hoping for even more delicately
bobbing blooms next season!
