Hello Clyde & Others,
Your list of names is a good one. I am familiar with all but one. Bill
Janssen rings a bell, but I can not remember why at this point. I assume
you are referring to Dianna Reeck? Paul Aden's name is familiar to most I
am sure. You have a good beginning here with people including yourself. I
see in another message where Nancy Stedman has chimed in with more talent
in the editing department.
I wrote, illustrated, edited, published and mailed a newsletter each month
for 5 years. What you are up to is not easy task and I hope you are willing
to just about put your whole life into a single focus if this is to be a
quality newsletter or magazine. In today's world it would certainly have to
contain color. Clyde, you are talking big bucks here to get off the ground.
Right now I can finance about $3.75 from the penny bank.
Personally, I feel there needs to be a committed meeting to work out the
initial focus and goals and a time schedule. Then thought to all the little
details such as financing, distribution, advertising and so many other
things. Garden writing is not hard to obtain. The world is filled with
garden writers such as myself. Same with photographers. Not trying to make
life difficult here, just seeking information on an interesting concept
that I feel is a do-able.
I have always held the ideal that Hostas are not the be-all and sole
answer to shade gardening in spite of all the horn blowing so we are in
agreement on that one. Dare I say it?... Hosta are simply Another good
shade plant.
