Dear All,

Bill is right. Paul saw the handwriting on the wall. His view was that there
is just so much that you can do with the Genus Hosta. He WAS shot down.
After correspondence between me and Paul, and some others, we decided to
launch a shadegaren society. Unfortunately, I dropped the ball and didn't
pursue it as I should have done.

BUT now it appears we have a lot of interest. Let's go ahead. See the posting
tonite from Gene Bush and the posting from John Adney. We have a lot of
planning and work to do. I have experience in editing the Hosta Journal but to
tell you the truth I don't know much else about forming an organization. My
suggestion is that we start out modestly, in terms of numbers of journals per
year. I'll be glad to do what I can.

Please suggest topics, as some already have done.

Let's GO!!

Clyde Crockett
