Thanks for the moral support, Carolyn. This is why I'm going to try a
bunch of Midwest native shrubs now. I don't know where D. 'Carol Macke'
came from but she sure as heck wasn't native to these parts! If anybody
has any suggestions for my biohedge, let's have 'em. Sheila has already
suggested Clethra alnifolia and I have it on my list. There is an
Amelanchier (Serviceberry) species that is more a bush than a tree. I need
to find out what that one's name is. There are lots of native Viburnums.
Elderberries do well here. Other ideas?
