Re: Hydrangea

Hi all-

I need a Hydrangea specialist's help. I have a one year cutting of a Lace
Cap Hydrangea that has grown into a nice multi-stemmed speciman filling a one
gallong container. Well this morning during my fall clean-up I noticed the
pot seemed to be glued to the ground from the roots growing from the bottom
of the pot into the ground. I have cut the plant out of it's home trying not
to disturb the abundance of roots. My question to you is

Do I plant this in the ground or is it too late? Or is it better to simply
put this plant in a bigger pot (until spring) and protect it from freezing
temps?

I live in Zone 9 - winter is unpredictable----we go from freezing temps for
two nights to having temps in the 70's. We have been known to having
freezing temps 5 nights in a row (2 of which were below 20 degrees).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Happy Gardening

to keep her hands dirty all day long) Katy, Texas Zone 9
