Hi Rich
I had about the same experience. My aunt in law used to raise capons
which are neutered chickens (whole other story). They had this huge pile
of manure that sat there for a whole year. I figured it would be fine so
went and hauled a large pickup load to town and spread it all over this
patch of daylilies I had. That afternoon it really warmed up and you
could smell it a mile away. I wasn't the most popular in the
neighborhood and it actually was still hot enough to burn the plants.
