I don't know where you are, Gerry, but keep in mind that cow stuff may be
high in salts and horses may be passing worm medication. Aside from that,
consider llama poop. Good stuff if you don't have to go all over the
pasture to get it.  Years ago, I placed an ad in an advertiser paper asking
for free manure for my garden. I got about 34 calls, only one of which was
from another gardener wanting the same thing, if there were more offers
than I could handle. Some people had old, old chicken poop, barns cleaned
out years ago, etc. I went to a horse boarding place that had a 15 foot
high ridge of horse poop and bedding that must have extended for half a
mile. We took several truckloads out, and didn't make a dent.  Margaret L
