Re: Rocks- rock on!


Aha! one of my favorite subjects... rocks.
    I have attempted to use them in the garden to line the paths in my hillside
garden to appear as though they were picked up and set aside as one cleared a path
through the local woods. They are also used to hid the concrete blocks and
railroad ties I used to terrace the hill and backfill over our hard clay.
Mimicking  the little outcroppings and cliff exposures that occur here naturally
is another goal. Love the flat creek stone best for working.
    I have been dragging rocks home for 14 years now. In need of another load now.
This time I am going to call someone and let them deliver a truck load or two.
Can't handle the getting out, lifting and carrying, unloading, getting them up the
hill into the garden, etc.
    I have not been able to verify this one as yet, but I have been told that the
DNR frowns heavily upon removing rocks from local state or federal
properties.......
