Here are a couple of sites about Suiseki, or landscape stones:

http://www.stonebridge.com/suiseki.html

http://www.felixrivera-suiseki.com

There was an online discussion list on the subject, but it has now been
discontinued. I believe that some of the more serious suiseki
collectors felt that amateurs, such as myself, do not have the correct
understanding or appreciation of "rocks". But I personally think it is
the highest compliment to find something so common and try to appreciate
it artistically. One added advantage of learning about the art form is
that I now look with a bit more critical eye, and do not bring home
quite so many specimens from my travels.
