We have an acre lot and have used nearly two dump truck loads (not pick
up loads :>) of old composted horse manure/hay/wood shavings this year
alone. We also get free municipal mulch, holding out for only the "old"
stuff - but by spring I feel like I never have enough of both.
Granted we used more compost this year because of creation of new beds,
re-doing the lawn, etc. but I feel certain I could use at least a dump
truck load a year, if not more.
Even with an ample supply of leaves, garden waste and kitchen waste of a
family of six - I could never make enough for my liking relying only on
"our" sources.
