Thanks for the info. Can you tell me where you obtained your sourwood? We
haven't had much luck around here. Is Brehob where you're getting the
Winter King hawthorn? I don't think they carry sourwood. Maybe too far
north. I know we are at the very edge of the hardiness zone for this tree,
but we want it. 25' seems the perfect height for a yard tree.
I must say, the hawthorns sure are gorgeous this time of year!

Just planted a Sourwoods last month and the little tree has now turned
color. If you can have only three trees, the sourwood has to be one of
them. definitely a 3 season tree, relatively slow grower and small in size
at maturity... about 25 feet I am told. Be a long time reaching that
height.
