Narda, if by Yellowwood, you are referring to Xanthocerus sorbifolia, your
sister did a good thing.  They are not widely planted or known.  I have had
mine for several years.  They bear loose clusters of white flowers in the
spring and each flower has a red center.  The foliage resembles
Mountainash.  I got mine mailorder as a baby.  I've been getting seeds from
it the last couple of years and have been giving them away.  It is a small
tree, as I recall, not getting to more than 30'.  Mine is currently still a
youngster at 15'.  It is hardy in Zone 4.  I'm all for diversity in our
tree populations.  I have 34 different kinds of trees on my 8 acres.
