I have some of this in my garden and didn't even remember planting it.
I had to look it up on line to be sure it was the same thing that everyone
was talking about. That said this is the first year it has bloomed and
my question is about bloom size. All of the pictures I saw on the web
showed alot ot blooms vertically but mine only has about 4 flowers on
each stem. It is planted in IL clay and dappled shade. The flower stock
is taller than the chain link fence hence me noticing the purple flower
because had it not been such a tall flower I might have missed it as
I thought everything was done blooming in my yard. Anyway it was a nice
surprise.LOL And as I said the bloom is a dark dusky purple. Of course
I wish I had a plant marker to tell the variety but I'm sure I bought
it at the local plant sale and the homeade markers in my yard are notorius
for disappearing and fading to nothing.
