Hello Betty,
I found my sourwood locally (somewhat) because I was seeking a 3 to 5 gallon
size. Located a 3 gallon size for about $35 if I remember correctly. They are
available in one gallon size for less than half that price from quite a few
specialty catalogs dealing with woodies. Would have to go back through my
catalogs, but definitely remember Sourwood being offered. You can even purchase
them ball & burlap here locally, but the price is larger than the rootball....
I just made a note to keep an eye out for the Sumac you mentioned. Sounds
great for the edge of my woodland garden. Perhaps over on the western edge.
To keep this on topic for shade garden list.... Aconitum still doing great, as
are fall-blooming anemones, hardy cyclamen, gentiana saponaria.
