Cool! What do you have as a companion plant(s)?
Gene,
I have it planted on a terraced area with some hostas, another fern or two,
some merrybells (uvularia, I think the botanic name is) and a hemlock. When I
was transplanting the large clump, a part came off and I planted it in a
little more sun at the base of a Jap. maple. It looks good too, even with more
sun. I was a little worried about doing that the first year, but the maple has
grown enough that it was shaded by 11:00 am. Now it seems like it will be
happy there. As a grower do you find the Himalayan fern hard to find for sale?
It doesn't seem to be fussy, the first year I kept it really moist, but this
year I didn't water it much and it looks as fresh today as it did in May. In
zone 5 it seems to be really hardy, too. I was really worried, since I never
saw it for sale, that it would be hard to grow.
Kay
