Impatiens omeiensis is blooming in my garden now. For those of you not
familiar with it, it is one of a few hardy, perennial Impatiens (at least
here in Z7). It grows about 6 inches tall and spreads by runners, making a
slow growing ground cover in woodland. It tends to disappear in drought
but comes back the following year. The flowers look like our native
Jewelweed and are light yellow, the leaves are a dark, velvety green with a
sheen and a light midrib--very attractive.
Also enjoying nice rebloom on a clone of Hemerocallis dumortierii, which
seems to do well in part shade. Cyclamen hederifolium and several
Colchicums are finishing up bloom now.
