This is a beautiful weed. Think seriously whether you really want it.
Anytime would be OK to plant (but fall bloomers are generally best planted
in spring). It tolerates sun, shade, and anything in between.

It is coming up all over my yard, because it seeds itself prolifically.
Not easy to yank it out, either!
