Diane, thanks for the info on commelina. I knew nothing about the species
other than what I read in the old T & M catalog. This plant should be c.
coelestris, although the flower is smaller and darker blue than the catalog
description. I still plan to dig it as I think I will lose it if it stays in
the ground, since it has not reseeded here.
The original plant was growing here in Walla Walla at the home of a
friend who died in 1997. Her husband died recently, and the garden is being
dismantled, plant by plant. I'm still searching for sanguinaria canadensis
'Multiplex' that I remember seeing in several places but didn't mark!
Luckily, I have a small clump in my own garden. Little treasures, so easily
lost...
