Re: Two grasses for shade

Bobbi, some favorite grasses that like shady sites are the several
hakonechloas. My favorite is the all green--a gorgeous grass that has very
slender leaves under a foot or so in length that grow upward and then flow
down, usually all in one direction. It makes a slow growing clump, as do the
yellow-striped and white-striped versions. There are more than these three
kinds available, I think.
I have lost my green hakon, as one of my corgis liked it even more than I
did and managed to eat most of it before I decided to move it to a more
sheltered place. I guess it was too debilitated to survive the move. I had
grown it near H. Sea Octopus for a similarity in leaf form, if not in size.
One of the most beautiful grasses I have ever seen.
