You don't have to "put up" with leggy growth on any rhododendron,
especially not The PJM group. Like all flowering shrubs, you have a four
week "window" for pruning and thining, and shaping . This can be done as
needed during that time with out leaving the plant looking bare in places
the rest of the season, and for the most part does not cause a loss of
bloom the following season.
