[SG] New to List

Hello Danyele!
Welcome to the list - I only joined a week ago myself, but I've already picked up
a few handy tips on shade gardening, and I enjoy following the conversations
going on.
It would seem we face a lot of the same challenges: as you can see from my
introductory note, we've recently moved into a house with a 25 yr old garden
here in Oslo, Norway (which I believe to be about zone 5-6 in your terminology,
anyway, a coastal climate which is sort of marginal for English ivy?).
I've spent the first summer digging up old, overgrown, frost-damaged shrubs,
weeding, and doing a little haphazard planting (will spend the winter drawing up
careful plans - if I have the time - what with two kids and working full time). The
garden is also mostly in partial shade. It obviously used to be well cared for, but
the previous owners limited their attention to mowing the grass, and let
everything else take care of itself - apart from putting in large amounts of bark
chips to fend off weeds (which does not succeed if not kept up, I can tell you....)
It would be nice to hear from you about your plans and choice of plant material!
