Dear Gene: I visited Behnke's Nursery two days ago here in Beltsville,
Maryland, and thought you might be interested in their cultural notes
posted above a display of Ceratostigma plumbaginoides, the gist of which
is that, sun or shade is suitable, but the plants have tighter growth
when grown in sun. Several flats were on display, in full sun, but of
course I don't know how long they had been there. Their growth was,
indeed, tighter than the rather loose habit mine have in full high shade,
but theirs didn't beem to have any more blossoms per square foot,
although my assessment was casual and not at all quantitative (i. e. I
didn't count them).
It is a GREAT plant.

Hello Harry,
Thanks very much for the explanations and clarifications on growing
Leadwort in the shade. Very much appreciated. If I had read my references
before writing you I would have had the information. I did enjoy your
personal experience with the plant more, however.
