Hi Pottsey,
I have started cutting a few things back as they die down.
I like this time of year when things are slowing. Even though
I have about 100 plants yet to plant, it just seems more
layed back in the fall. I try to keep things tidy so when it is
time to cover things it is easier. In Oct. I will throw some
bonemeal around and get straw and burlap ready. When the
ground has frozen that is when I cover everything. I really
find satisfaction putting my plants to rest for the winter. I
guess I feel they have worked so hard all summer and made
such beautiful flowers they deserve a long nap.
