Cindy,
In my experience with tricyrtis some are rapid growers and some are not. It
depends on the specie. My T. togen is a gigantic 4' shrub. It is gorgeous
and has been blooming for a couple weeks. It's earlier than some, which I
really like. I have T. bakeri which is a healthy grower (but not rampant by
any means) in a good soil. T. stolinifera has taken quite a few years to
form a sizeable clump. T. hirta varieg. is average in growth speed for me.
T. hirta 'White Towers' is the same. I live in Central Illinois, if that
helps.
