Fertilizing Sibs

I want to fertilize my sibs this weekend but am wondering what others use for
this. Previously I used Osmocote (don't recall which formulation) but the 4
month time release "beads". I have some 17-17-17 here but am wondering if
this would be beneficial to sibs. I have used it on hosta and daylilies.
