Hi Margret,
Can't help you with the iris. However if you scrape crumbs off a bar of soap
over your daylilies when it is damp the deer should not bother them. Been
doing it for years here in Maine and it works. There is a deer crossing
right through the middle of my garden. My worst problem with the deer is
that they step on plants and drive them into the ground, the moose are
worse, however not as many.
