Iris versicolor is more water loving iris than sibs and if you can
secure for your replanted parts good watering, is better devide it in
Fall as early as possible (middle of August).  Establishment of
devided plant in spring can be some blocked as part of roots are lost
and maintenance of plant is much more less than in old place. I keep
the rule young seedlings to line as early as possible in spring, old
clumps to devide early Fall. Generally if take good and knowledgeble
care any time is good to replant. We have such a joke question for
beginers to ask: "When is the best time to replant very valuable
plant?" The answer is: "When you obtain it"

have unlimited watering and keep itself comparatively well.
