Re: Re: "sun tolerant hosta" (also shade tolerant Sibs)

Our latitude is much more to North than USA and Canada, but heat is
heat and this summer still about 2 months without rain and day
temperatures about 28-30C with full sun have done good examination for
hostas. Only two hostas from "sun tolerant hostas" I have "Summer
Fragrance" and "Sum and Substance". Both are in the sun from about
12.00 of day until evening and both they do perfect. No little demage
of leaves, but watering is need. Other my hostas can give only
partial afternoon sun, but when they give to many the edges of leaves
are cooked. Some days without watering the hosta "Reversed" was burnt
even in full shade. At all I have observed that in shade areas groving
hostas do perfect in hot days when ground is watered and moist doing
suitable microclimate. My water suply this year is working only with
short stops so the plants say "Thanks". Weeds also.
