Siberian iris must not dry out when transplanted. When they arrive you should
put them in a pail of water for a few hours and they need their rhizomes
covered 3". I like to dig a hole 8-10" deep, pour water in so the bottom is nice
and damp, spread the roots out and fill the hole up leaving abut 2" to catch
and hold rain or water. They need to be kept wet for at least 2-3 weeks. If it
doesn't rain then you need to water them. They must not have air pockets around
them. Good luck. By and large we don't see well grown siberians at the
national. This year the Loving Garden had wonderful siberians and at the Winterberry
garden there were several of their siberians scattered around but that was a
very large planting to get around and see everything. Anna mae miller.
