well grown siberians

Anna Mae Miller described planting siberians and inspired me to go to
work on mine. She also mentioned "well grown siberians." Anna Mae,
what do you look for when you're assessing "well grown siberians" and
what, besides the good planting you described, culture do you suggest
for maintaining "well grown" ones. Also, is there a rule of thumb for
how long to let clumps go before dividing? particularly the tetraploids
which seem to pile rhizomes on top of eachother?
