Odd Caesar's B.

The attached photo shows an odd blossom of 'Caesar's
Brother' on the right. I picked this flower out of
over 500 blossoms for a photo log I was making. I was
viewing it through the lens before I noticed it had 4
outer petals. It also has four standards, but they
can not be seen in this top-down view. I looked
reasonably thoroughly for another, but this was it.
Anyone know how often this happens (or how)?

BTW, the iris on the left in the photo is 'Silver
Edge'.
