William,

There is no Siberian iris named 'Candy Cane' in the 2003 Siberian cumulative checklist. Maybe someone will know what it is or maybe it is just an unnamed seedling that the nursery or store is selling under that name.

I was viewing it through the lens before I noticed it had 4 outer petals.  It also has four standards, but they can not be seen in this top-down view.  I looked reasonably thoroughly for another, but this was it.
Anyone know how often this happens (or how)?

William - I see these 'extra-petal' flowers occasionally in my garden in both bearded and beardless classes. I think some say it is weather-related.
