Siberians in North Carolina, etc.

--- "Bobby Baxter - Wake Forest, NC" <irismoose@daylily.net>

>>> This past summer I also visited and filmed Roy Epperson's
garden where I became exposed to a greater variety and diversity
in the Siberians. <<<

Hello Bobby...you must have had a wonderful adventure in Roy's
garden since he is a Siberian enthusiast. When I lived in North
Carolina (Chapel Hill) many moons ago, we were in married
students' apts. and no gardening. But I remember the early
Spring when the end of February seemed like April in New England
and made me envious of your long growing season. 35 years ago I
thought the word Siberian meant someone who lived in Siberia!

Welcome to our group. We are a somewhat self-policing group with
no real rules except that we focus our discussion on Siberian
iris with a few forays into other areas. At the present we do
not allow photos but there is a little-used Yahoogroups list
(BeardlessIrisPhotos) that can be used as an adjunct to this
list.

For those that may be new to our list, the reason that the
photos were barred from Sibrob was the unfortunate occurrence of
a virus being introduced to the list through a photo attachment
in 2000.

** If there is a strong feeling about reinstating photos, please
contact me PRIVATELY so we don't get hung up on the issue of
photos on the list. **

Cheers,

Ellen (with lots and sub-zero temps. up here in the mountains)
