planting time again


You know, I didn't think of this at the time of my first message;   
Tracy Di-Sabato Aust, who wrote The Well Tended Perennial Garden has 
said that she divides and plants siberian irises any time it's 
convenient for her.  I mentioned that to a friend who is an excellent 
gardener, and who grows here in Connecticut and on Long Island, and she 
said that was exactly what she does.  If the time is convenient and 
she's going to be around to be sure she can do the follow up watering, 
she digs and divides, spring, summer, fall.  Of course this woman could 
put a pencil in the ground and it would grow......
