hybridizers and it sounds as if you're off to a great start. The
most exciting part of spring, which is always exciting anyway, is
seeing new flowers for the first time - what a kick!
An observation - you said that you made your selections after the
first year of bloom - if you have enough space it's a good idea to
evaluate for a second bloom season when plant characteristics are
often more developed.
My feeling is that for a successful hybridizing programme you mostly
need two things - good parents and a discriminating eye!
