Annotation - Uber Den Volken

Hello everyone!

Borbeleta Gardens made "Uber Den Volken" commercially available in 1991.
It is mentioned in the Borbeleta ad, Spring '91 TSI.

Uber Den Volken (Tamberg) "Over the Clouds" 
Beautiful large very light airy blue 

I purchased UDV that year.

The registration is listed in the Spring '94 issue of TSI

Ueber Den Wolken (Tomas Tamberg, R. 1993).
Sdlg SSTT174. SIB (28 chrom. dip.), 33" (85 cm) M. Light
blue self . SSTT108: ((Tycoon x Limeheart) x Limeheart) x Signals Blue

In a subsequent article by T. Tambergin TSI he mentions Uber Den Volken.

I do believe I had seen a spelling correction of the registration in a
later TSI, but I have not had
time to look over each copy, a single line correction.

I have had little success with UDV, it was slow to bloom. I moved the plant
to a corner of the garden where it persisted but did not flourish. The
light blue flowers are impressive, but it is not floriferous.
I broke up the clump this Spring and gave some to Jack Worel of Holly lane
Iris Garden. It died, my transplants persisted but had little increase. I
also received a piece from Willowwood (Julius Wadekamper, former owner of
Borbeleta) this Spring and it barely made it through the year.

I believe I have an old picture or slide somewhere. If I have time to scan
it,  I will post it to Iris-photo.
