I guess it depends on the list, Ellen, as iris-photos and many other lists
that I belong to accept and even request photos to be sent. The file
attachments are generally to be kept to a reasonably small size (less than
50k) and saved in a .gif of .jpg format which most current browsers/email
programs can view.
Maybe it should be stated that THIS particular list does not accept photos.
It should be noted that, at onelist.com, where you sign up for the SIBROB
list, the description is as follows:
SIBROB is the Siberian Iris Mailing List and welcomes all gardeners to
discover the ease and reliability of these beautiful beardless irises. This
list is not geared to any level of expertise and novices and experts alike
