Thanks so much for your reply dennis. That makes a lot of sense. Not having 
had any experience with first year siberian seedlings, I had no idea. 
Fortunately I have Dr. McEwan's Siberian Iris book on order, and will be 
able to read up on such things!
I am not disappointed. I am looking forward to seeing the seedlings, as I 
like the parent. Next Spring, I might try a few tentative deliberate crosses 
within and between these species. In the meantime, I will concentrate on 
making them permanent garden beds, and getting them out of their pots.
