[sibrob] budfly

Hi all,

Jim Murphy here in zone 6/7, North Garden Va.

I have seen NO budfly here. We have, however developed a very bad problem with voles, that even several cats cannot control. I lost all of 4 cvs and parts of most other SI’s and JI’s. I also lost an entire row, 100%,  of SI seedlings. The JI’s seem slightly better at resisting vole damage, I guess because there are more roots to begin with on JI’s in this area.

I will plant all new plants in wire mesh baskets, as much of a pain as that is. It is good not to have battled budfly here. I do have to spray some years for thrips, so that could have prevented budfly. JIm
