As Ellen mentioned, our new SSI web site, http://www.socsib.org, is now
open for "business." Please update any links you may have to the old one.
For those of you who haven't heard the sad tale, my reliable ISP of many
years, one.net, was recently taken over by another company. That company
handled its transition by simply changing the references and making all the
old files (web and email) inaccessible without notice. After doing that,
they understandably could not manage answering their phones or email. Our
SSI board acted quickly to authorize moving to another provider, this time
a web hosting service, and fortunately I had copies of almost everything so
that the site could be restored in its new location.
I'd like to thank all of our contributing photographers, who have now
brought us to the milestone of having at least one picture of each Morgan
Award and Morgan-Wood Medal winner. This is truly a benefit of having a
group working together. We can certainly continue to go forward by
improving upon some of the pictures and acquiring clump pictures or flower
pictures where we only have one--continued contributions are definitely
welcome, as are all other suggestions.
