Re: brown leaves


John et al,
         If you had the problems I have had with fungus, you would not be 
so cavalier about it.  It seems as though I'm "lucky" enough to be 
experiencing something unusual.  I would not wish these problems on 
anybody, and if any of you DO think you might have a fungus-infected plant 
I urge you to take steps right away.  I don't like using fungicides but I 
don't have another choice right now, besides giving up on irises.
         As for "scorch":  nothing much came out of Currier's attempt to 
find out what it really is.  As I recall it, his conclusion was that scorch 
is not a single disease, it is the result of anything that causes the roots 
to die, resulting in brown foliage.
