The other thing Sibs need is winter chilling. Not an issue in your climate, but certainly in many others. I'm looking forward to this years bloom, we're having one off our coldest winters yet. Water I can supply, but temperature is beyond my control.

I think popularity would increase if it were better known that Siberian irises are virtually work free, long lived plants.  As the peony, planted well the first time, little more attention is needed.  Water, lots of it, seems to be only factor for me that causes the blooming to vary.  With or without water, the plants do well.  It does take more than one year to establish well and gardeners, as everyone, have little patience these days.
