I had a phone call this morning from a customer with a questions whose
answer I didn't have. I told her that I'd post the question here. This
woman said that she had either an SI or JI growing (not one of mine), she
wasn't sure which. Her question was about the identity of an orange-yellow
mass that appeared to be growing at the base of the plant and moving up
the plant. She didn't think it was an egg mass and said it felt creamy or
almost slimy to the touch. Hosing it with water dispersed the substance
and continued hosing did dissolve most of it. She's wondering what she has
and, now, so am I. Does it sound like any fungus anyone has had experience
with?
