Well, isn't it interesting. I had this same fungus on a tree stump in
the garden this year. I must admit when I first saw it I truly wondered
just what the heck it was, but I just left it thinking it was probably
just some weird form of life just carrying on. I wouldn't think it
would hurt the lily as it probably "feeds" off the cellulose in the dead
wood of tree stumps, fallen trees etc. All very interesting.
