I agree with all of the above --- gee, I only grow one of the four MW
candidates and I don't think I have even seen the other three. :(
I won't want say which one I grow but I have grown it on two different
places with plants I purchased from two different growers. The first plant I
got was from Draycott Gardens in Maryland and the second from the Abrego's
in Oregon. It did well for me (actually spectacular) in
both instances. It is a 2-yr. plant this year and has 7 bloomstalks ready to
burst into bloom. It didn't bloom its first year in either
place but it increased like mad and is very vigorous in the frigid north. (I
am an apprentice judge so I can't vote this year.)
Question: I have seen it growing in one other garden in Maine and doing well
and my two gardens. If I was eligible to vote this year, I would definitely
vote for it even though I am basing its performace on my own two gardens.
Since I got it from Maryland and also from Oregon, I have to assume that it
does well in those other climates. Is this what the 'other' judges do?
