Marty,

Thank you...I had thought about that and the signals are already (to 
my eye) interesting on these seedlings. One of the seedlings, known 
simply as #3, has a good number of bloomstalks on first year bloom 
here, 5 as opposed to one or two in Zone 3. That is one that also 
looks promising in shape - more modern but the color is the clincher.
Not at all distintive. Just ole' wine red with a moderate blue 
influence and, of course, no branching. 

I will keep working to get at least one that doesn't go into the 
compost heap!
