One of my seedlings that bloomed last year that I thought was a mid-season bloomer looks
like an early bloomer with bright red (?) bud spathes and purple-based (reddish) foliage.
This is the "bright" pink one that I was was watching last year - hopefully, it will have
better form than I remember. It certainly has more bloom stalks which is encouraging.
Only I. typhifolia is in full bloom here while Snow Prince, Little Blue Sparkler and
Salamander Crossing are in colored bud along with the new pinkish interloper coming
along.
The question of I. sibirica vs I. sanguinea heritage is interesting....
