Hello Ken,
I have grown described very short Setosas from SIGNA seed and they grow very
tall. I have several in cold frames now drawing themselved up to over one
foot andthey will not be dwarf plants. The best dwarf plants I have are
white and have thick dark colored foliage. They are pretty good looking all
season. They have excellent foliage. The best group was a no-name from a
sale in Massachusetts.
If I bump into any true dwarf plants, I intend to to beg a few rhizomes and
trade. I am not impressed by checklists. The measurements can vary by which
section of this country they are are grown but a true dwarf plant does not
shoot up to two feet.
Dwarf whites growing amongst rocks here are about the most charming siting of
Siberians that I have. Well maybe some of the older McEwansare pretty good as
well. I have reached an age where I want reliable plants. Whens spring
arrives, I want the plant I had the year before.
Travelling in Europe some years ago, I saw true dwarf Siberians in all shades
blue, dark and light colors. I havenot seen them to purchase here. They (at
least mine do) do better in a wider variety of soil conditions.
I guess I am finished on dwarf Siberians. If anyone comes upon a source,
please post it, I would be most appreciative.
